Not for the chemically sensitive

I bought three other sets of these in different colors and they all have the same problem: Gilligan & O'Malley® Knit Pajama Set - White/ Purple, Gilligan & O'Malley® Knit Pajama Set - White/ Blue Paisley, and Gilligan & O'Malley® Short-Sleeve Pajamas Set - Purple Sky.

I have minor chemical sensitivity issues. I can't tolerate some fragrances, new particle board, new electronics or plastics in general, not until they have a chance to gas off.

When I removed these pajamas from the plastic they came they had a strong, sharp odor. After machine washing, twice, and drying, the sharp odor was gone, but the pajamas still had a funny smell, kind of like sisal twine-- not pleasant or unpleasant, but strong enough to be rather annoying. Ten minutes after putting them on I realized my skin felt cool and tingly everywhere the fabric touched it. I changed into something else.

Repeated washings with detergent, baking soda, and white vinegar, and hanging the pajamas in the sun didn't remove the odor. Finally I soaked them in an enzymatic stain and odor remover (Nature's Miracle) and hung them outside to dry. This seemed to remove the odor, but I thought I still felt the tingling. By this time I had Googled "toxic textiles" and become thoroughly frightened learning about a problem I didn't even know existed. The pajamas were produced in Viet Nam. I'm giving up on this purchase.

I needed some pjs to wear when I visit my children and these are perfect. They are not too heavy and are very comfortable.

This was just as described. The pj's were very pretty. They fit perfectly and were just what I wanted. They came very quickly too.
